Privacy Policy

Information we collect

We collect only what Milestold needs to work:

• Account details — your email address, used to create and sign in to your account.
• Your content — the voice notes you record, along with the transcripts, summaries, and details Milestold produces from them.
• Optional location — if you allow it, one approximate starting point saved with a journal entry. Milestold never tracks your movement.
• Payment data — subscription status and billing confirmations from our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never reach our servers.

What we do not collect

Milestold has no analytics tools, no advertising trackers, and no behavioral profiling. We do not follow you across apps or websites, and we do not build advertising profiles from anything you record or write.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the Service: to transcribe and summarize your recordings, store your journal entries, and display them back to you; to maintain your account; to process your subscription; and to send you service updates.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use Your Content to advertise to you or to anyone else.

AI processing

Milestold uses third-party AI providers — OpenAI and Google Gemini — to transcribe your voice notes and produce summaries and extracted details. Your recordings and transcripts are processed by these providers solely to provide the Service to you.

We do not use your recordings, transcripts, or journal entries to train AI models, and we do not permit our providers to use them for that purpose.

Payments

Subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, your payment details are collected and handled directly by Stripe under its own privacy policy, and we receive only the information needed to confirm your subscription — such as its status and billing period. Your full card details never touch Milestold's servers.

Location data

Location in Milestold is optional. If you allow it, the Service may save one approximate starting point per journal entry so you can remember where a run began. Milestold never tracks your movement and never records your location while you run.

Sharing of information

We share your information only with the service providers named in this policy — OpenAI, Google Gemini, and Stripe — and only to the extent needed to provide the Service. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone.

Data retention and deletion

Your journal entries are kept for as long as your account is active. You can export or delete individual entries, or your entire journal, from the app at any time.

When you delete content, it is removed from active storage; backups may retain it for a limited period before it is fully purged. Deleting your account deletes your journal and account details with it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards — including encryption in transit and at rest — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but if a breach affecting your data ever occurs, we will notify you as required by law.

Your rights (EU/UK)

If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to receive it in a portable format; to restrict or object to its processing; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Your rights (California)

If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA, so there is nothing to opt out of.

International transfers

Milestold is operated from the United States, and your information — including recordings and transcripts — may be processed in the US and other countries where our providers operate. Where data is transferred from the EU or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Children

Milestold is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, contact us at contact@seneiastudio.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email.

Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
